Manipulating Items on a Dialog Box
Selecting an item
To select a dialog box item in a dialog box, position the cursor over the dialog box item and press the left mouse button. Six small black squares are displayed around the dialog box item to show that it is selected, as below :-
To select two or more dialog box items in a dialog box, simply press and hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and click on the dialog box items to be selected. Each dialog box item displays the six small black squares, as below :-
To select the dialog box itself, position the mouse cursor anywhere in the dialog box background and press the left mouse button. The six small square are displayed around the dialog box as below :-
Adding an item
A dialog box item such as a Push button, Check box, List box and so on, can be dropped into a dialog box by first selecting the desired dialog box item from the Item menu and then moving the cursor to the position in the dialog box to drop the dialog box item onto and pressing the left mouse button.
Removing an item
To delete or remove a dialog box item from a dialog box, simply select the desired dialog box item in the dialog box and press the Delete key on the keyboard.
Moving an item
To move a dialog box item, press and hold down the left mouse button on the dialog box item and drag the dialog box item in the desired location and then release the left mouse button. While the dialog box item is being dragged a black frame shows the new position of the dialog box item.
Similarly, the dialog box can also be moved by pressing and holding down the left mouse button and dragging the dialog box to the desired location.
To resize a dialog box or a dialog box item, position the mouse cursor over any of the six small black squares after the dialog box or dialog box item is selected. The cursor will change into an arrow and this arrow shows the directions in which the size can be changed. Simply, press and hold the left mouse button and stretch the dialog box or dialog box item to the desired size.
